Job Title: 3rd Shift - Production Supervisor
Job Description
The Production Supervisor directs and oversees employees engaged in manufacturing activities, with a focus on training, coaching, and supervising production staff. This role maintains a positive and productive work environment, ensures compliance with safety standards and established policies and procedures, and supports consistent, high-quality production output in a manufacturing setting, preferably within food production.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all production activities performed by operators and production staff, maintaining a high degree of visibility and accessibility to employees throughout the shift.
- Establish and maintain department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy to support consistent and efficient manufacturing operations.
- Monitor and report daily production results, including material usage, waste, downtime, and other key performance indicators.
- Identify and report equipment problems to the appropriate department and production manager to minimize disruptions to production.
- Coordinate closely with Quality Control to maintain established quality standards and take appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies.
- Train, motivate, coach, recognize, and discipline employees as needed to build a high-performing team and resolve personnel issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the production manager to manage personnel matters such as vacation approvals, timecard approvals, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.
- Perform required administrative tasks, including preparing reports, documentation, and correspondence related to production and personnel.
- Assist the production manager with the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and ensure employees follow all established guidelines.
- Inspect equipment and facilities for proper sanitation and cleanliness, particularly in a food manufacturing environment, and take corrective action to resolve any deficiencies.
- Work with representatives from other departments to resolve production-related issues and support cross-functional collaboration.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all operating systems and processes related to the assigned work area to provide effective oversight and support.
- Partner with the Safety Manager to implement safety programs and deliver all required safety training for employees.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company safety standards, promoting a strong safety culture on the production floor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall production and operational goals.
Essential Skills
- 3–5 years of progressive production experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated production supervision experience with responsibility for operators and production staff.
- Strong supervisory skills, including the ability to train, coach, motivate, and discipline employees effectively.
- Proven ability to maintain and enforce standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience monitoring and reporting production metrics such as output, material usage, waste, and downtime.
- Ability to collaborate with Quality Control to maintain quality standards and implement corrective actions.
- Experience handling personnel matters such as scheduling, overtime, timecard approvals, and supporting hiring and training.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including report preparation and documentation.
- Working knowledge of operating systems and production processes relevant to the manufacturing area.
- Commitment to safety and experience supporting or implementing safety programs and training.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish skills preferred to support communication with a diverse workforce.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively on a night shift schedule, Monday through Friday.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive working relationships across departments.
- Ability to resolve production and personnel issues calmly and professionally.

Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing environment, preferably within food production, overseeing all activities on a Monday through Friday night shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The Production Supervisor maintains a strong presence on the production floor, ensuring visibility and accessibility to employees throughout the shift. The environment emphasizes productivity, reliability, accuracy, and adherence to quality and sanitation standards, including regular inspections of equipment and facilities. The role involves close collaboration with Quality Control, maintenance, safety, and other departments, and requires consistent adherence to established safety programs and procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
