Job Description Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by actively monitoring premises, enforcing site policies, and responding to incidents. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring the protection of personnel, property, and assets.
Job Requirements, Prerequisites, and Essential FunctionsJob Specifications
Education: High school diploma or higher required
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of security experience required
Previous military or law enforcement experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Valid California Security Guard Card required
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Prerequisite Skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
Strong observational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions (Not Modifiable)
Security Operations
- Monitor, control, and secure access to assigned facilities
- Conduct regular foot patrols of the property
- Enforce site rules, regulations, and procedures
- Identify and respond to potential security threats
Incident Response
- Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security threats
- Detain individuals when necessary in accordance with company policy and legal guidelines
- Report all incidents, accidents, and irregularities accurately and promptly
Access Control & Surveillance
- Verify and allow authorized personnel and materials in and out of the facility
- Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activity
Additional Requirements
Must be in good physical condition
Must be able to travel as required for assignments
Must be able to pass background screening, drug testing, and any required fitness assessments
Must provide professional references
