Job Description

Are you naturally mechanically inclined, great with your hands, and looking for a stable, long-term career? We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Assembly & Repair Technician to join our team in Fremont.

No prior vacuum pump experience is required—we will fully train you. If you are someone who enjoys taking things apart, figuring out how they work, and putting them back together with precision, your skills will transfer perfectly here. You will work closely with our experienced technician, Paul, to master our equipment, engineering processes, and overall department operations. This is an exceptional opportunity to get paid handsomely while learning a specialized, highly valuable technical trade.

  • LOCATION: Fremont, CA 94538

  • SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday

  • HOURS: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

TOP 3 MUST-HAVES

  1. Mechanical Aptitude: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience working with mechanical components, machinery, or assembly. We welcome candidates from backgrounds like assembly, equipment maintenance, compressor repair, small engine hobbies, or any field requiring strong mechanical troubleshooting. (Prior vacuum pump experience is a plus, but absolutely not required).

  2. Tool & Machinery Proficiency: Comfort and familiarity with standard mechanical hand tools and basic shop equipment (such as belt sanders, drill presses, wire wheels, and grinders).

  3. Physical Capability & Safety Focus: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. assistance-free and a strict commitment to safe shop work practices.

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE

  • 80% Tear-Down & Precision Rebuild: Using standard shop tools to disassemble mechanical units, cleaning parts meticulously, identifying worn or broken components, and reassembling them to exact manufacturer specifications.

  • 10% Testing & Basic Wiring: Learning to connect and run the rebuilt units to ensure they meet performance and safety specifications.

  • 10% Shop Safety & Organization: Keeping your personal workspace clean and organized.

  • Rebuild inventory units from our shelf stock to prepare them for customer sales.

Testing & Electrical Tasks (Training Provided)

  • Learn to safely and accurately configure and wire single-phase and three-phase motors for testing (we will train you thoroughly on our safety protocols).

  • Test reassembled units to ensure their operational performance meets quality standards.

Shop Safety & Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe personal work area at all times.

  • Follow strict safe work practices; utilize safety equipment such as protective masks, eye shields, and ear guards.

  • Maintain a high sense of urgency regarding job completion to meet customer expectations.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

  • Experience Level: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience involving mechanical assembly, repair, or technical troubleshooting.
