Machine Operator
Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating machinery, maintaining high-quality production standards, and ensuring efficient workflow throughout the manufacturing process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor assigned machinery and equipment according to safety and quality standards
- Perform all checks on parts based on measurement requirements and inform senior staff of any discrepancies.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and consistency
- Use micrometers, calipers and height gauge
- Perform safety and quality checks
- Deburr completed materiel components and parts
- Identify and report mechanical issues or malfunctions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow daily production schedules and meet output goals
- Document production data, machine settings, and any issues encountered
- Work closely with the production team to ensure smooth operations
- Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Willingness to cross train in various other departments such as our inspection, testing and painting departments
- Read and interpret drawings and according to requirements accurately interpret and apply fit, tolerance.
- Properly and respectfully communicate with peers, leads, managers, inspectors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic experience with hand tools
- Understand and comprehend measurements
- Previous experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred, but not required
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, instructions, or measurements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand, lift, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in environments with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures
- The team member is expected to perform repetitive tasks using their hands.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs
Must be flexible for shift changes
