The Satellite Ground System Engineer plays a critical role within the satellite systems and ground operations teams, focusing on the software and systems aspects of satellite ground systems. This full-time position in El Segundo involves design, development, operations, and maintenance phases, emphasizing system integration, signal processing, and network configuration. The engineer will work extensively in a SCIF environment, supporting mission planning, control, and telemetry processing, while ensuring system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and test satellite ground systems and software components
- Perform signal analysis and network configuration for ground stations
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system upgrades and testing procedures
- Troubleshoot issues and monitor system performance
- Coordinate with satellite systems and ground operations teams for seamless operations
- Support mission planning, mission control, antenna contact planning, and telemetry processing
Required Qualifications
- 8-15 years of experience in satellite ground system engineering, software, integration, test, or operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Expertise in satellite communication systems, ground station operations, and signal processing
- Proven skills in network configuration, systems integration, and troubleshooting
- Strong project management, technical documentation, and team collaboration abilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance or TS/SCI held within the last six months and eligible for reissuance
- Willingness to work full-time within a SCIF environment in El Segundo
