Pay Rate: $20.00 Hourly
Employment Type: Temporary
Hours: 40+ hours/week
Shifts: Monday through Sunday; flexibility required to cover swing shifts (2:00 PM - 11:00 PM) and graveyard shifts (10:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
Summary:
Kelly Services is seeking a Temporary Operations Support Specialist to provide administrative, technical, and specialized support for purchasing and inventory management. Responsibilities include processing invoices, credit card payments, and requisitions; reviewing goods receipts and invoices for accuracy; researching and problem-solving; and providing backup for procurement, scheduling, and supply room functions as needed. The Operations Support Specialist assists in driving process improvements and performs other duties as assigned.
Position Responsibilities:
- Review invoices, receiving paperwork, and inventory transactions for accuracy.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies, reaching out to other resources as needed.
- Provide backup and perform duties for procurement, scheduling, inventory control, and supply room associates as needed.
- Review daily inventory and exception reports in support of procurement activities.
- Write purchase requisitions and/or purchase orders for goods and services as needed.
- Evaluate purchase requests for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor and expedite the delivery of purchased goods and services in support of procurement and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with procurement and maintenance personnel on purchasing activities to maintain adequate inventory.
- Provide feedback to requesting departments regarding purchase order status.
- Work with requesting departments to confirm the closing and/or canceling of purchase orders.
- Ensure orders are processed against the appropriate chart of accounts.
- Receive and examine incoming stock for discrepancies or damage, and work with vendors to resolve issues.
- Conduct cycle counts of supply room inventory and participates in yearly inventory counts as needed.
- Administer process orders and requisitions in support of scheduling as needed.
- Support personnel in areas such as procurement, scheduling, logistics, supply room, inventory control, finance, and operations.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant policies.
- Participate in cost reduction activities and projects.
- Process required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Analyze and evaluate information to determine the best solutions for problem-solving or addressing issues.
- Assist with training and development of associates as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; further education preferred.
- 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and customer service skills.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in general computer operations with strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP experience preferred.
- Intermediate math skills.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk and occasionally required to sit, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
