Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Provide perioperative nursing care, including pre-, intra-, and post-operative support, while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, coordinating with anesthesia, surgical teams, and other disciplines.
- Use critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to adapt care plans as patient needs evolve.
- Document care accurately, communicate changes to the care team, and advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Perioperative or Operating Room experience preferred; equivalent OR experience considered
- Associate or higher degree in Nursing from an accredited program; BSN preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to travel for a 13-week assignment and comply with assignment requirements
