About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and student‑centered Educational Specialist to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. This role supports students with diverse learning needs across general and special education settings, collaborating closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure equitable access to instruction and meaningful progress toward IEP goals. The ideal candidate brings strong instructional expertise, a commitment to inclusive practices, and the ability to build positive, collaborative relationships within a school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized academic instruction (SAI) in alignment with students’ IEPs across resource, inclusion, or learning center settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs in collaboration with families and school teams.
- Conduct assessments, progress monitoring, and data‑driven instructional planning.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction.
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and problem‑solving processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, and compliance records in accordance with California Education Code and district policies.
- Support positive behavior strategies and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with families, teachers, and service providers to ensure coordinated support.
Qualifications
- Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Severe, or equivalent).
- Experience working with students with disabilities in K–12 settings.
- Strong understanding of MTSS, inclusive practices, and evidence‑based instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain compliance with timelines, documentation requirements, and state regulations.
- Commitment to equity, cultural responsiveness, and student‑centered practice.
