Job Description
A prestigious multinational company specializing in warehouse automation and material handling solutions is seeking a Temporary Operations Supervisor to support the Low Volume Test Support project at a large distribution facility. This is a 3-month assignment with possible extension, based on-site in Salinas, CA
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to operational needs)
Break: 1-hour unpaid ·
Pay Rate: $27/hour
Start date: Monday, June 29th
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, guide, and support a team of temporary personnel (4–10 technicians) in executing low-volume conveyor system tests.
- Plan and assign daily work so the team keeps pace with the established daily testing schedule, recognizing that activity comes in peaks — periods of intensive testing alternating with slower stretches — and adjusting team focus accordingly.
- Coordinate closely with the client's engineering and controls team, who manage conveyor sequencing and system synchronization, to align test execution with their commissioning requirements.
- Ensure all operational activities are performed correctly, on time, and in full compliance with established quality and safety protocols.
- Generate daily operational reports and communicate test status, incidents, and progress clearly to project management.
- Anticipate and resolve issues that may impact daily operations, implementing timely and effective solutions.
- Ensure all team members adhere to company policies, work standards, and the client's code of conduct.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2–4 years of operational experience in material handling, automation, or related systems, preferably in testing or commissioning environments.
- Demonstrated experience supervising teams, with the ability to motivate, direct, and distribute work effectively, including the flexibility to manage uneven workloads.
- Familiarity with automated conveyor systems and industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA, or DCS); ability to communicate effectively with engineering and controls personnel.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Excellent communication, customer orientation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be available to work on-site in Salinas, CA, for the entire project duration (June through October, with possible variations according to the client's requirements).
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and site-specific safety training.
- Must comply with site PPE requirements (hard hat, steel-toe shoes, and high-visibility vest).
