About the Role

As an integral member of the Aortic Disease Program, you will provide support to patients throughout their care journey—from outpatient consultations and ongoing management to inpatient treatment and procedural assistance. This position presents a vibrant blend of clinical duties and the chance to play a role in a progressive program that prioritizes outstanding patient outcomes and translational research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care in both outpatient and inpatient environments, including initial evaluations, follow-up visits, and hospital management.
  • Assist in aortic procedures and perioperative care, coordinating imaging, diagnostics, and surgical planning.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary case discussions and collaborate with teams in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and vascular surgery.
  • Conduct telehealth appointments and manage patient communications through the Epic platform.
  • Ensure continuity of care by coordinating with referring providers and subspecialists.
  • Educate patients and their families about aortic disease, treatment options, and long-term management strategies.
  • Contribute to clinical quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives.
  • Participate in clinical research and program development opportunities.

RequirementsEducation:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) program.

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in California.
  • DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (CSRC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Additional certifications as required by the department.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, or aortic disease is preferred.
  • New graduates with a keen interest in complex cardiovascular care are encouraged to apply.
