Position Summary
The Security Guard Lead is responsible for supervising security personnel, maintaining the safety and security of company property, employees, visitors, and assets, and ensuring compliance with company security policies and procedures. This position oversees daily security operations, conducts investigations, monitors security systems, and serves as the primary point of contact for security-related matters while maintaining a professional and secure work environment.
Essential Functions
• Supervise and lead a team of security guards, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Develop, implement, and enforce security protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities and grounds to identify and address security risks.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate security personnel to improve performance and effectiveness.
• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate incident reports and security documentation.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, emergency responders, and other agencies as necessary.
• Monitor security systems including CCTV cameras, alarms, access control systems, and other security equipment.
• Investigate security incidents, safety concerns, and food safety-related events and provide detailed reports to management.
• Maintain detailed shift activity reports and security logs.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to security operations.
• Communicate professionally with employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and management.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques when responding to conflicts or incidents.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, investigations, and personnel matters.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a security guard required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience in security or a related field required.
• Current and valid California BSIS Guard Card required.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred.
• Arrest and Control Training (P.C. 832) preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prepare professional reports and incident documentation.
• Knowledge of security procedures, surveillance systems, and emergency response protocols.
• Ability to remain calm and composed during emergencies and high-pressure situations.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills, including report writing and security monitoring systems.
Work Environment
• Food manufacturing and pistachio processing facility.
• Indoor and outdoor work environments.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and production activities.
• Frequent interaction with employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
• May respond to emergency situations, security incidents, and safety concerns.
• Must comply with all company safety, food safety, and security policies and procedures.
