Job DescriptionSummary

A well-established Southern California design-build general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead public works, civic, educational, and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, collaborating closely with field teams and clients, and working within a growing company that values accountability, teamwork, and long-term relationships. The company maintains a healthy backlog of negotiated and public work projects and offers the opportunity to play a key role in delivering meaningful projects throughout Southern California.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from preconstruction through closeout

• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and forecasting

• Lead subcontractor buyout, procurement, and contract administration

• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation

• Work closely with superintendents, owners, architects, consultants, and agency representatives

• Lead owner meetings and provide regular project updates

• Monitor project costs, productivity, quality, and schedule performance

• Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions

• Ensure compliance with contract documents, safety requirements, and public agency standards

• Support project closeout, punch lists, and turnover documentation

Requirements

• 7+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial general contractor

• Experience managing ground-up and/or major renovation commercial construction projects

• Public works, civic, education (DSA), municipal, or institutional project experience strongly preferred

• Design-build experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, buyout, and project financials

• Experience leading projects from preconstruction through closeout

• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred
