Rubbercraft is seeking a Manufacturing Technician – Material Prep (1st Shift) to support the preparation of raw materials used in the production of precision molded rubber components for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. This role is responsible for cutting materials, weighing and pre-forming rubber compounds, operating cutting equipment, maintaining traceability, and ensuring materials are prepared accurately and safely to support production.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the company's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Contribute to a positive customer experience and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cut layup templates using blades according to production routers and work instructions.
  • Weigh, pre-form, and prepare materials for the molding press line.
  • Assist with mixing small batches of rubber compounds as required.
  • Assist in calendaring materials with fabric, Teflon, or plastic backing.
  • Operate rubber cutting equipment while following all safety procedures.
  • Read, understand, and follow production routers, travelers, and work instructions in English.
  • Maintain accurate part identification and material traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Complete required router signoffs and in-process documentation.
  • Perform visual in-process inspections and segregate nonconforming material.
  • Meet production schedules and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Support other production areas as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements through Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) forms.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent manufacturing experience.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience working with calendars, uncured elastomers, rubber mills, or cutting equipment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
  • Familiarity with measuring equipment such as calipers and scales.
  • General knowledge of rubber curing systems is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Training

  • On-the-job training on department procedures and work instructions.
  • Annual refresher training on FOD prevention, calibration, documentation control, and safety.
