Job Description
The Quality Inspector – Incoming Components ensures that all incoming materials and components meet established quality standards before they enter production. This role performs detailed inspections, documents and reports findings, and works closely with the quality team to resolve issues and maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal procedures.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming components and materials to verify they meet defined quality standards and specifications.
- Perform sampling and first article inspections on incoming components and document results accurately.
- Conduct receiving inspections and identify any non-conforming materials.
- Document and report discrepancies, defects, and quality issues using established non-conformance materials report processes.
- Collaborate with the quality control and quality assurance teams to investigate, address, and resolve quality concerns.
- Maintain accurate, organized records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Review and verify Certificates of Analysis (COA) and other documentation to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Follow and support established quality control, quality assurance, and inspection procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
- Use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications to record, analyze, and report inspection data.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection processes, documentation, and overall product quality.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in first article inspection or a closely related quality inspection role.
- Demonstrated experience with non-conformance material reporting and handling.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and deviations from specifications.
- Analytical skills to interpret inspection data, COAs, and quality documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly document findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office for data entry, reporting, and documentation.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Experience working with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Certificates of Analysis (COA).
- Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and inspection processes for incoming components.
- Ability to follow established sampling, inspection, and receiving inspection procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or cosmetic manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to quality, GMP, and GLP.
- Experience using state-of-the-art inspection or laboratory equipment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and support growth within the organization.
Work Environment
This role operates within both laboratory and production environments in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. You will work with modern inspection tools and equipment to evaluate incoming components and support high-quality production processes. The position follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays and overtime as needed to meet operational demands. The environment emphasizes Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices, structured procedures, and close collaboration with quality, production, and other departments, offering opportunities to grow within multiple areas of the organization.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moorpark, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
