Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as conveyors.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
  • Perform battery changes and preventive maintenance on batteries.
  • Enter downtime data in daily log and complete PM sheets.
  • Manage work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Troubleshoot and identify problems with equipment.
  • Track and store the department's inventory, including spare parts.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment or automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • 2+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
  • 2+ years of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
  • 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards.
  • 1+ year of experience in troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment systems.
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • High school or equivalent diploma.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety standards.
  • Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with PLC based controls systems.
  • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.

Work Environment

The work environment is a large distribution facility equipped with high-speed automation equipment, predominantly featuring robotic components. Candidates should be comfortable walking 10,000 steps per day and lifting up to 49 lbs at a time. The shift options are 11am - 7pm or 9pm - 5am, with schedules running Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday. All candidates must be open to working any 10-hour shift. Performance is tracked by data and numbers to ensure expectations are met, although micromanagement is not practiced.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chula Vista, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
