SUMMARY: Under the direction of the VP of Human Resources and Executive Director, Director of Human Resources provides oversight and support to ensure that the community meets all legal and company standards in all areas of Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides guidance, training, and support to management team in carrying out supervisory duties in accordance with policies and procedures and in alignment with ECS core values.

  • Recruits for job opening by coordinating the placement of internal and external postings and assisting with the interviewing and candidate selection in support of the hiring manager as needed.

  • Processes new hire offer letters and pre-employment screening ensuring only people meeting company DSS standards begin work.

  • Responsible for new employee onboarding, including entry of employee record into the HRIS system.

  • Process employment status changes and coordinating with Support Services as necessary (payroll, benefit administration, IT).

  • Processes workers compensation claims by gathering incident reports and witness statements, providing employee with claim form, processing claim with insurance company, and working with the doctors, claims administrator, and supervisor to determine if modified duty is necessary and available, and recording incidents on OSHA logs if necessary.

  • Notifies Benefit Administrator of any leave of absence.

  • Assists, guides and counsels management with the performance management and termination processes ensuring proper documentation, notification, and processing all necessary forms. Attends or conducts corrective action sessions and exit interviews as warranted.

  • Maintains employee files that meet legal and company guidelines, and maintains roster with active employees, volunteers, and contractors.

  • Implement human resources policies and procedures as directed by Support Services.
