Job DescriptionReal Estate Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join the Real Estate Practice Group of a highly respected Am Law firm. This opportunity is available in Century City (Los Angeles) or San Francisco.

This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions across a wide range of asset classes and development projects. The ideal candidate will have strong transactional real estate experience and a desire to take on meaningful responsibility while working closely with clients and experienced practitioners in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions
  • Advise clients on real estate development matters, including land use and zoning issues
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leasing agreements and related real estate documentation
  • Assist with due diligence, transaction management, and closing processes
  • Support clients in connection with real estate financing matters and related transactions
  • Manage smaller matters independently and oversee portions of larger, complex transactions
  • Work directly with clients, opposing counsel, consultants, and other transaction participants
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to provide comprehensive legal solutions

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of transactional real estate experience
  • Experience handling acquisitions, dispositions, commercial leasing, and development matters
  • Experience with land use and zoning issues is preferred
  • Familiarity with real estate financing transactions is a plus
  • Large law firm experience preferred, though strong boutique real estate experience will be considered
  • Excellent drafting, research, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines effectively
  • Team-oriented approach and commitment to client service
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in California

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $235,000 – $390,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
