Location: Milpitas, CA
Pay Rate: $26.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Interview Process: Onsite Interview Required

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assembler, Instrument to join a leading medical device manufacturing team in Milpitas, CA. This position is responsible for performing electro-mechanical assembly of flow cytometers, sub-assemblies, and related medical device products. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience using hand tools, and the ability to follow detailed work instructions while maintaining high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble medical device instruments, sub-assemblies, and components according to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform assembly of optical, mechanical, fluidic, and electronic components.
  • Review and confirm work orders, assembly instructions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Complete and maintain Device History Records (DHR) and other production documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, quality personnel, and production staff to resolve assembly-related issues.
  • Assist with new product introductions and process improvements.
  • Collect, document, and review production data and measurements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Accurately complete timesheets, training records, and required paperwork.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience using hand tools and mechanical assembly equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed assembly instructions and technical documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and standing throughout the shift.

Preferred

  • Experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working with optical, fluidic, electronic, or mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 and cGMP/21 CFR Part 820 standards.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma concepts, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Associate degree or vocational training in electro-mechanical assembly or a related technical field.
