Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented Front Desk Representative to join the team at our thriving clinic and help with check-out of patients. Under the supervision of management, the front desk coordinator is the first point of phone and in-person customer service contact for our patients, patient family members, physicians, payers and various other external customers through offering customer service, communications, and appropriate distribution of phone calls and messages while managing in-person visits. The front desk coordinator may perform a variety of duties including but not limited to collecting and updating demographics and insurance information, verification of health plan eligibility and coordination of benefits, taking complete and accurate messages and scheduling mutually acceptable appointment times utilizing electronic practice management systems. The front desk coordinator may perform other clerical duties in support of clinic staff in the daily operation of clinic related goals, benchmarks, and quality care initiatives per organizational guidelines. Provides excellent patient customer service daily.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they arrive and provide an excellent customer experience
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
- Verify Insurance is current
- Assist clients with paperwork, including consent forms
- Maintain a clean and inviting environment
- Provide general customer service and attend to the needs of customers throughout their servicesExcellent communication skills with a commitment to customer service
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Knowledge of commercial, government, private, and workers' compensation payers
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Familiarity with an electronic practice management system is preferred
- Experience handling multiple phone lines
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with internal staff and external business associates in a wide variety of business transactions, providing superior customer service.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills to document and report clearly and concisely; conveys instructions, directions, and information appropriately and professionally.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred
- Knowledge of general office systems, including telephone systems, Microsoft Products (MS Outlook, Meister, MS Teams, G-Suite, Email, Word), copier, fax, scanner, and computer.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of healthcare related experience as a receptionist or similar role
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Bilingual preferred
- Orthopedic Spine front desk/reception experience preferred
