Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid teaching certification appropriate for Teachers of the Visually Impaired

  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Understanding of best practices in accessible instruction and student advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to each student’s strengths and goals
  • Adapt materials and activities for accessibility, including Braille and technology
  • Assess student abilities and progress, documenting outcomes and recommendations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create inclusive learning environments
  • Guide students in developing daily living and orientation & mobility skills
  • Serve as a resource for faculty on best practices for supporting visually impaired students
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
