Job DescriptionAbout the Role:MJ Barber & Beauty Academy in Hemet, CA is looking for a passionate and experienced Licensed Cosmetology Instructor to inspire the next generation of beauty professionals. Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on instruction in cosmetology theory and practical techniques
- Teach students core skills including hair cutting, coloring, skincare, nail care, and chemical services
- Evaluate and assess student progress through written and practical examinations
- Maintain accurate student attendance, performance records, and progress reports
- Ensure a safe, clean, and professional learning environment in compliance with state board standards
- Mentor and motivate students to prepare for the California State Board licensing exam
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and product knowledge
Requirements:
- Active California Cosmetology License 3 years minimum (Required)
- Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of cosmetology theory, techniques, and state board regulations
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
- Passionate, patient, and student-focused with a professional demeanor
- Ability to work a consistent schedule and meet curriculum requirements
