Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar supportive school role is highly valued
- Genuine passion for working with students of varying needs and backgrounds
- Comfort and willingness to assist with mobility and toileting needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stay organized, flexible, and proactive in dynamic classroom environments
- Commitment to maintaining a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all students
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or certification preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional, emotional, and physical support to students, both individually and in small groups
- Assist with classroom activities under the supervision of licensed educators
- Support students with special needs, including help with mobility, toileting, and personal care, as needed
- Foster an encouraging, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- Adapt support techniques in response to individual student needs
- Help maintain accurate records and adhere to classroom routines
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support learning objectives
