The Opportunity: Elevate Your Craft in 5-Axis Machining
We are looking for a highly skilled CNC Machinist, 5-Axis to join our team. This isn't a mind-numbing assembly line job—you will be working on a variety of low-volume, short-run projects, rapid prototyping, and complex, multi-axis customized tooling packages that demand true craftsmanship.
You will have the opportunity to leverage advanced multi-axis machining capabilities to solve intricate geometric challenges, ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision for our global customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Axis Setup & Execution: Perform complex setups, operations, and first-article inspections on CNC vertical machining centers (Haas experience is a significant plus), optimizing setups for multi-axis/5-axis workflow efficiencies.
- Prototype & Short Runs: Efficiently execute rapid-turnaround prototypes, custom tooling packages, and short production runs.
- Material Versatility: Machine a wide variety of materials, adjusting speeds, feeds, and tooling selection appropriately based on material behaviors.
- Collaboration & Inspection: Work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions. Conduct rigorous in-process inspections to meet exacting tolerances.
- Team-Oriented Adaptability: Maintain manual mill and lathe proficiency to support the shop as needed, and pitch in with the team during critical crunches.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant CNC machining experience. Multi-axis/5-axis setup and operation experience is highly desirable.
- Technical Savvy: Strong proficiency in CNC vertical setups, operation, and part inspection. Manual mill and lathe experience is a strong plus.
- Mindset: Mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, organized, and a stellar problem-solver.
- Communication: Ability to clearly document and communicate in English (both written and verbal) and comfortably work from verbal instructions.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift and move portable shop equipment up to 75 pounds.
- Culture Fit: A polite, professional individual who thrives in a supportive, communicative, and fast-paced environment. Willingness to work periodic overtime to support growth demands.
