We are seeking a dedicated Buyer who will be responsible for sourcing materials by evaluating vendor capabilities, prices, delivery needs, and performance. The Buyer will ensure on-time delivery of materials, manage business relationships with assigned suppliers, and oversee the RFQ process to secure competitive bids. This role requires close integration with Engineering teams to fulfill procurement requirements and act as the primary point of contact for R&D order status. The Buyer will also provide purchase order status updates to material planners, negotiate terms with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements, and maintain purchase order data within our ERP system.
Responsibilities
- Source materials after evaluating vendor capabilities, prices, delivery needs, and performance.
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Manage business relationships with assigned suppliers.
- Oversee the RFQ process to secure competitive bids.
- Integrate with Engineering teams to meet procurement requirements.
- Act as the primary contact for R&D order status.
- Provide purchase order status updates to material planners.
- Negotiate terms with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Maintain purchase order data within the ERP system.
Essential Skills
- Experience in supply chain management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (6+ years of total experience).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proven ability to source, onboard, and negotiate pricing with suppliers.
- Proven knowledge of purchasing processes.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.

This position is based on-site in Long Beach.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $43.00/hr.
