Job Description

This role supports a high-volume fruit production facility by packing and stacking peaches and strawberries on the production line. You will work on 2nd shift, handling physical, repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment while following safety and quality standards. English comprehension is required to understand instructions, safety information, and production procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Pack and stack fruit products on the production line according to established standards and instructions.
  • Inspect fruit and packaging for visible defects, damage, or contamination and remove any nonconforming product.
  • Operate as general production support, assisting with tasks such as loading, unloading, and organizing materials as needed.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and product, including lifting up to 40 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 400 pounds with appropriate equipment.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and sanitation procedures, including proper use of required protective clothing and equipment.
  • Work effectively as part of a production team to meet daily output and quality goals.
  • Adapt to changing production needs, including different lines, tasks, or stations throughout the shift.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing debris, disposing of waste, and following sanitation guidelines.
  • Communicate clearly in English to understand instructions, ask questions, and report issues to supervisors or leads.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, especially during peak production seasons.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift at least 40 pounds safely and repeatedly.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 400 pounds using appropriate tools or equipment.
  • English comprehension to understand verbal and written instructions, safety information, and production procedures.
  • Experience in general production, general labor, or similar roles in a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including day or night shifts and weekends as needed.
  • Comfort working in environments with extreme temperatures, including hot and cold conditions.
  • Reliability and punctuality for consistent 2nd shift work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in packing, stacking, or packaging roles in a production or warehouse environment.
  • Experience in food production, especially handling fruit or similar products.
  • Familiarity with basic inspection of products for quality and defects.
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols in a food production setting.
  • Comfort working in a structured, fast-paced production environment with defined processes.

Work Environment

This role is based in a peach and strawberry food production facility that operates on a 2nd shift schedule. Standard 2nd shift hours are approximately 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with seasonal peak hours shifting to about 7:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. The work involves physical, repetitive tasks in an environment that can experience extreme temperatures, including both hot and cold conditions. You will work on or near production lines and equipment, handling fruit and packaging materials throughout the shift. The dress code includes wearing a smock, hair net, beard net if needed, bump cap, and non-slip shoes to maintain safety and hygiene standards. The facility emphasizes safe food handling, cleanliness, and adherence to production and sanitation procedures.

This is a Contract position based out of Clovis, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.90 - $16.90/hr.
