Job DescriptionJob Overview: Pay Range: $45hr - $50hr
Responsibilities:
- Execute fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and inspection processes per detailed work instructions and engineering drawings.
- Perform optical fiber splicing and recoating activities.
- Fabricate, assemble, and inspect photonic circuits and optical components.
- Conduct mechanical builds and assemblies, including metal soldering.
- Utilize microscopy and profilometry techniques for inspection and analysis.
- Integrate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) optical equipment such as power meters and laser sources.
- Assist with equipment calibration following vendor or custom procedures.
- Communicate progress and issues with management to ensure alignment with cost, schedule, and quality targets.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance activities.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as wire bonding, photomasking, and epoxy application systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled work environment.
Required Skills And Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, or Associate degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
- Hands-on experience with optical systems, photonics fabrication, or similar technical environments.
- Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and engineering documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in technical tasks.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with optical fiber splicing, photonic circuit fabrication, or related processes.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as microscopes, profilometers, and optical measurement tools.
- Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environments.
- Knowledge of calibration procedures and preventive maintenance practices.
