Direct Care Staff
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Direct Care Staff will provide individualized support services to HCBS-AMH participants residing in their own homes or family residences. The direct care staff will provide transportation services, respite care, supervised living, supported home living and host home/companion care services for HCBS-AMH participants.
Job Type: Full Time
Pay: $20.00
Work Location: Houston
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide supervision and support to participants living in the host home or companion care residence.
· Assist participants with Activities of Daily Living.
· Assist participants in acquiring, retaining, and improving skills necessary for independent living.
· Maintain daily service logs and documentation required by HCBS-AMH Home Delivered Meal program guidelines.
· Provide services in alignment with the participant’s Individual Recovery Plan.
· Supports and assists individuals in developing independent living skills and meeting rehabilitation goals.
· Must demonstrate good judgment and emotional stability.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day and be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
· Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull bend multiple times a day.
· Ability to walk with items in hand, grasp and reach as needed.
· Ability to perform with repetitive maneuvers and manual dexterity.
· Ability to work in an office environment.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or GED.
· At least one (1) year of direct home care experience preferred.
· Maintain a valid Texas driver license and proof of automobile insurance.
· Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups.
· Ability to flex work hours as needed.
· Willing to work some weekends and overnight shift.
· Possess strong interpersonal leadership, analytic, and problem-solving skills.
· HHSC approved criminal background clearances.
· Valid driver’s license.
· CPR/First Aid/BLS certification
· PPD Clearance
