Position Overview -

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Maintenance Technician Level 1 to join our team. This entry-level role is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow a career in property maintenance.

You will gain hands-on experience while supporting the upkeep of our apartment communities working alongside experienced technicians, learning valuable trade skills, and contributing to safe, clean, and well-maintained living environments for residents.


Compensation and Benefits -

Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $25.00

Essential Position Responsibilities -

• Track and complete assigned work orders daily using Yardi
• Communicate professionally with residents when scheduling and performing work
• Prepare tools and materials needed for assigned tasks
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general upkeep)
• Assist senior technicians with more complex repairs and learn proper techniques
• Accurately document completed work in Yardi
• Maintain organization of tools, equipment, and materials
• Observe property conditions and report issues proactively
• Ensure incomplete tasks are documented and communicated for follow-up
• Participate in inspections, installations, and minor repair projects under supervision


Skills -

• Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong willingness to learn and follow direction
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic familiarity with tools and mobile technology (smartphone/tablet)
• Customer service mindset and ability to interact professionally with residents
• Dependable, team-oriented, and adaptable


Education and Experience -

• High school diploma required
• Less than 2 years of full-time experience in maintenance or a related trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, masonry, etc.)
• Certifications in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC are a plus


Supervisory Responsibilities -

• This position does not include supervisory responsibilities but assists more experienced technicians as directed


Physical Requirements -

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and up to 50 pounds to waist height
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching
• Good vision and overall physical conditioning required


Work Environment -

• Work is primarily performed in occupied apartments and residential buildings
• Occasional administrative or office-related tasks as needed
• Regular interaction with residents in a customer-service-focused environment


Travel Requirements -

• Must have use of a vehicle to regularly travel to Community Corp. properties, hardware stores, and supply stores within the service area
• Valid California driver’s license and required insurance
• Must maintain a satisfactory driving record and consent to DMV pull report
