Stretch the Imagination is looking for enthusiastic educators who are lifelong learners and invested in this stage of early childhood development.
We are looking to hire a morning support teacher to help with our 2s. The support job is for 8-1200 daily. Candidates start August 24th with our two week professional development and must have the units to be able to be alone with children (6 ECE Units at least). These hours would be set the same each week.
We are also looking for a lead teacher role. This role can be 30 or 40 hours and the schedule varies dependent on how many hours. Our School: Stretch the Imagination is a collaborative group of early childhood educators who are invested in young children and the development of community, as well as striving towards an inclusive environment that can support all children. New teachers will join an amazing group of dedicated and collaborative educators and a community of dialogue and partnership with our parents and students. Our school is grounded in an inquiry based curriculum that emerges over time through project work. Teachers work in collaborative teams and are given a number of hours off the floor with children to collaborate, review documentation, and develop the curriculum. We are also passionate about connecting children to the natural world. Each class, starting at age 3 years, spends 2 days/week exploring the Presidio forest. Our 2 year old students spend 1 day/week exploring the Presidio forest.
Job Details:
Teachers are responsible for implementing an age-appropriate curriculum for 12-16 children at the school between the ages of two and three years. Specifically, teachers will attend weekly team meetings, co-teach with their teaching team, attend monthly faculty meetings, and work with the teaching team to ensure the curriculum is developed in a way that reflects our mission and philosophy as a school. Our school curriculum is developed through project work, documentation and collaboration. Teachers are given autonomy over their classrooms and are supported by mentor teachers and the administration team. Our support teacher works in collaboration with their core teaching team. Support teachers have the opportunity if appropriate to move into a full teaching role.
