LSG Sky Chefswith over 75 years of Catering history is hiring immediately for Full-Time team players to prepare products for our Airline, E-Commerce, and Retail customers. We are the worlds leading provider of end-toend airline products and services with a fast-growing footprint in Convenience Retail and Subscription Food Service.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Our production cook actively participates in customer presentations, menu design and implementation.
Must be able to create sauces, soups, starches, proteins and vegetables from scratch.
Determines production levels and request proper amount of supplies and food from the storeroom.
Prepares food in accordance with established procedures/recipes. Interprets specifications and prepares to taste, color, texture and eye appeal, Interprets and implements HACCP procedures which includes proper temperature controls and completing the necessary paperwork and must work clean. Inventories supply levels and requisitions food products as necessary.
Must be able to delegate production needs to second cook. Must assist the Executive Chef and Production Chef as needed.
Prepares food based on a pre-determined production level. Inventories supply and requisition the proper number of supplies on a pre-determined production level.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
Read, speak and write English, Spanish or other languages beneficial.
Some culinary school or a minimum of five years experiences in a high-volume kitchen.
Must have the ability to convert to metric measures with conversion chart.
Must have the ability, where necessary to prepare ethnic food items.
Must be able to work in refrigerated and hot areas. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must lead by example to ensure a safe workplace
Eligible candidates must:
Be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
Pass a background check and clear a drug screen
Be able to stand for the FULL duration of the shift
Be available to work in a 38- degree cold room, only when necessary
Be a team player and work well with a diverse team from all over the world!
Ability to comprehend verbal & written specifications in English
Possess basic math skills
MUST be able to work a Flexible schedule; This is a 24-hour operation, 7 days a week
Additional eligibility requirements and details:
This is a Union Position- must be willing to pay union dues after 14 days
Must be available to work a full-time position, including Weekends and Holidays as needed
Must be able to complete the application/orientation process in English
Ability to lift 25+ pounds occasionally, 50+ pounds frequently & 10+ pounds consistently. Bend / stoop & twist repeatedly & stand for 8 12 hours a day
