In this position, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to provide encouragement, guidance, and individualized support to students with diverse learning needs, including those in Special Education and English Language Learner (ELL) programs. Your commitment will help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support teachers with classroom instruction, lesson preparation, and daily activities
• Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support to students
• Assist students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
• Help maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Observe and communicate student progress to teachers and staff
• Assist with classroom organization, grading, copying, and preparation of instructional materials
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, transitions, field trips, and other school activities
• Promote a respectful, supportive, and safe learning environment for all students
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational or school-based setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to student success
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families to support student learning
Certifications:
• (Include required or preferred certifications such as CPR/First Aid, paraprofessional assessment, or district-specific requirements)
