Johnson Service Group is seeking a Manufacturing / Process Engineer – Automation to work in Cypress, CA


We are seeking a self-driven engineer who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and enjoys building, improving, and documenting automated processes. This role will be instrumental in implementing, programming, validating, and optimizing automated production equipment while developing and documenting manufacturing processes that support quality, efficiency, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automation technologies in a manufacturing environment, preferably within microelectronics manufacturing, including Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), wire bonding, and pick-and-place systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Program, optimize, and support automated manufacturing equipment, including HESSE automated wire bonders and AOI inspection work cells.
  • Develop, validate, and document manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process controls.
  • Spend approximately 60–70% of working time in a cleanroom production environment supporting automation and process development activities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, process, and production issues to improve yield, quality, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and management teams to ensure successful implementation of automation projects.
  • Analyze process data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support new product introductions and process qualification activities.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and manufacturing best practices.


Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience working with automated manufacturing equipment and production processes.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in microelectronics, semiconductor, or electronic component manufacturing.
  • Experience creating manufacturing documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and process flow documentation.
