Position Summary
The Project Manager oversees electrical construction projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to specification. This role manages budgeting, cost control, procurement, scheduling, and coordination with contractors, vendors, and clients. Success requires strong leadership, communication, and decision making skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and manage project operations including labor, procurement, cost control, and client communication.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, and end users throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and process RFIs to support project clarity and progress.
- Oversee all financial aspects of assigned projects including budgets, purchase orders, subcontracts, invoices, and billings.
- Facilitate change order pricing and maintain accurate documentation.
- Procure materials and manage tracking logs to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project specifications.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Attend project meetings to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and track progress.
- Coordinate schedules with field teams, vendors, and subcontractors to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Support design build efforts in collaboration with engineering and design teams.
- Maintain strong client relationships by responding to needs promptly and professionally.
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety guidelines, and contractual obligations.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with estimating, cost management, procurement, and scheduling.
- Understanding of electrical power and lighting design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to drive positive resolutions.
- Highly organized with strong documentation abilities.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the electrical construction industry as a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
