Location: San Francisco, CA
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Workweek: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
Reports To: Local Director of Operations

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Route Service & Maintenance Technician to service and maintain automated public facilities throughout the San Francisco area.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering a consistent 40-hour workweek. The role combines route driving, cleaning and sanitation, equipment inspections, light mechanical and electrical maintenance, and daily reporting.
The selected employee will be provided with a company vehicle to operate during working hours.
Compensation and Benefits

Union Membership Requirement
This is a unionized position that provides healthcare insurance and pension benefits to its members.
Joining the applicable union is a condition of employment. The selected candidate must be willing to complete all required union enrollment requirements and pay any applicable union dues.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive an assigned company vehicle throughout the San Francisco area
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and maintain automated public facilities
- Remove graffiti, stickers, trash, and debris
- Replenish paper products and other consumable supplies
- Replace light bulbs and complete basic equipment maintenance
- Perform light mechanical and electrical work
- Inspect equipment and verify that all systems are functioning properly
- Install, display, and adjust advertising posters
- Complete accurate daily work reports for each assigned station
- Report repair needs and operational concerns to the Local Director of Operations
- Coordinate with field supervisors, repair technicians, maintenance personnel, and cleaning crews
- Follow all company, safety, and union procedures
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide dependable service throughout the assigned route
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability and willingness to drive for up to eight hours per day
- Strong knowledge of San Francisco streets, neighborhoods, and traffic patterns
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift at least 25–30 pounds
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, responsible, and safety-conscious
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and complete daily assignments
- Comfortable performing cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance duties
- Ability to work safely around electrical wiring, machinery, and mechanical equipment
- Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
- Willingness to join the union as a condition of employment
- Flexibility during winter months
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
- The employer is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position
Physical and Environmental Requirements
This position involves regular manual labor, including:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement
- Operating manual and mechanical equipment
- Working in extreme heat or cold
- Working around dust, dirt, fumes, and unpleasant odors
- Working near electrical wiring and machinery
- Performing internal and external washing and sanitation duties
