Job Description

About Headlands Brewing

Headlands brews great beer with a greater purpose — a workplace where people thrive, spaces where community comes first, and a commitment to leaving our planet better than we found it. We operate multiple taproom locations across the Bay Area, with more on the way, and we’re at an inflection point: we’ve proven we can build great venues. Now we need to build a great hospitality company.

The Role

This is the most important leadership role in our organization.

The Director of Hospitality is responsible for building and leading the hospitality organization at Headlands Brewing — developing great leaders, creating an exceptional employee and guest experience, and building the systems, standards, and culture that allow us to scale successfully.

While operational excellence and financial performance are critical, success will ultimately be measured by the strength of our teams, the consistency of our culture, and our ability to grow without sacrificing what makes Headlands special.

Who We’re Looking For

We need someone who is both restaurant smart and corporate smart — deeply fluent in hospitality, and equally capable of building organizations, developing leaders, creating accountability, and implementing systems that scale.

You should be equally comfortable reviewing a P&L, coaching a taproom manager, solving a guest issue on the floor, or helping a new employee feel welcome on their first shift.

Most importantly: you genuinely care about people. You believe great hospitality starts with great teams. And you have a track record that shows it.

Key Responsibilities

• Build trust, credibility, and culture across the hospitality organization

• Develop managers into exceptional leaders and coaches

• Drive consistent financial performance across all venues (P&L, labor, SPLH, prime costs)

• Build operating systems, SOPs, and standards that scale

• Lead multi-unit operations with a focus on consistency and guest experience

• Support new venue openings and rapid stabilization

• Create accountability systems that don’t sacrifice humanity

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive hospitality leadership experience

• Meaningful multi-unit management experience

• Demonstrated success developing managers and leadership teams

• Proven financial and operational management track record

• Experience building systems and processes that scale

• Craft beer experience a plus — genuine passion for the category matters more

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary • Performance bonus • Health & dental • 401(k) with match • PTO • Employee discounts
