Comprehensive Benefits

If youre a missiondriven clinician who believes behavioral health care should be accessible, dignified, and barrierfree this is your moment. First Step Communities is expanding our onsite behavioral health services at the Stockton Blvd. Safe Stay, a 175bed lowbarrier shelter serving adults navigating homelessness. Were looking for a licensed clinician who is energized by challenge, grounded in compassion, and ready to help rewrite what behavioral health access looks like for our community.

Why This Role Matters

Our clients face some of the most significant barriers to care in the region transportation gaps, stigma, untreated trauma, and systems that werent built with them in mind. Youll be the clinician who helps break those barriers down. Youll build trust, create stability, and deliver therapeutic support that meets people exactly where they are.

What Youll Do

  • Provide group therapy, psychoeducation, and enrichment groups tailored to adults experiencing homelessness
  • Partner closely with shelter case managers to coordinate care, stabilize crises, and support client progress
  • Deliver traumainformed, culturally responsive, strengthsbased services
  • Build rapport with clients who may be navigating complex trauma, behavioral health conditions, and highstress environments
  • Help shape a supportive, healingcentered environment within a large, fastmoving shelter community
  • Innovate because our clients deserve care that adapts to their realities, not the other way around

What You Bring

  • Active, disciplinefree license as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC (California Board of Behavioral Sciences)
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, ideally individuals experiencing homelessness or behavioral health crises
  • Skill in deescalation, group facilitation, and traumainformed engagement
  • A collaborative spirit and a willingness to think creatively about service delivery
  • A belief that every person deserves access to highquality behavioral health care

Compensation & Benefits

  • $120,000+ annual salary (higher compensation available with experience)
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • 401K with 3% company match
  • 3 weeks vacation per year to start, plus 13 Holidays
  • Full-time schedule, MondayFriday

If youre ready to make a measurable impact, challenge outdated systems, and help our clients move forward with dignity and hope, we want to meet you.
