We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Technical Support Technician to join our team in the aviation training device manufacturing industry. This position provides telephone, email, and hands-on technical support for fixed-wing flight simulators, computer systems, and related hardware. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting technical challenges, delivering excellent customer service, and working in a dynamic environment that supports aviation training professionals worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide telephone support to flight simulator customers regarding replacement parts, hardware issues, computer problems, and system operation concerns.
- Respond to customer emails by troubleshooting technical issues, answering product questions, and recommending effective solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral equipment issues to restore simulator functionality.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and follow-up actions using the company ticketing system.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure timely issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Escalate complex technical issues to management when appropriate.
- Install, repair, and maintain simulator hardware, software, computers, and related equipment.
- Continuously expand technical knowledge through manuals, technical publications, and diagnostic resources.
- Travel to customer locations for system installations, maintenance, upgrades, and support services as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in technical support, computer technology, IT support, or a related field.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Experience using hand tools to perform basic electromechanical maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, reliability, and customer service.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting aviation simulators or working within the aviation industry.
- Associate degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of computer networking.
- Soldering experience.
- Aviation maintenance or technical operations background.
