Job DescriptionDirect Counsel is seeking a Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate to join a highly regarded law firm’s Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented associate looking to work on sophisticated bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of experience handling both in-court and out-of-court restructurings. Experience representing debtors and creditors’ committees is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters
• Work on both in-court and out-of-court restructurings
• Support debtor and creditors’ committee representations
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and related filings
• Collaborate closely with partners and clients on sophisticated insolvency matters

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience
• Experience with Chapter 11 matters and restructuring transactions preferred
• Debtor and/or creditors’ committee experience strongly preferred
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
• Active California Bar admission required

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $195,000 – $215,000
