Job DescriptionAbout the role:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Traffic Flagger to assist with traffic control operations in and around construction and utility work zones. The Traffic Flagger will be responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely through work areas while ensuring compliance with local, state, and company safety regulations.Key Responsibilities: Direct and control traffic flow using stop/slow paddles, flags, signs, and hand signals. Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices, including cones, barricades, and signage. Communicate effectively with construction crews, motorists, and pedestrians. Monitor work zones for safety hazards and report concerns immediately. Follow approved traffic control plans and company safety procedures. Maintain awareness of surrounding traffic and changing road conditions. Assist with general labor duties when traffic control responsibilities are not required. Attend safety meetings and maintain all required certifications. Qualifications: Current Traffic Flagger Certification (required).Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong communication and situational awareness skills.Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks. Reliable transportation and punctual attendance. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check (if required). Physical Requirements: Frequently stand, walk, bend, and lift to 50 pounds. Work in high-traffic environments while maintaining focus and attention to safety.Ability to wear required PPE, including a hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and work boots. Preferred Experience: Previous traffic control, construction, utility, telecommunications, or roadway work experience. Familiarity with MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) standards.Experience working on utility, telecom, fiber, or roadway construction projects. Must have a current traffic flagger Certification, take a background check, and drug test.
