About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a high-growth AI technology company to find a VP of Engineering. You'll lead all engineering across product, infrastructure, and developer experience. This is a hands-on leadership role—you'll stay close to code while building and scaling high-performing teams in a fast-moving environment.
What You'll Do
- Build and mentor an engineering organization from current state to 2-3x scale
- Own technical strategy and execution across product, platform, and DevOps
- Drive architectural decisions that prioritize developer velocity and reliability
- Partner with product and design to deliver customer impact on aggressive timelines
- Establish engineering culture around ownership, quality, and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership at high-growth companies
- Proven track record scaling teams from 10 to 50+ engineers
- Deep technical credibility—you should be able to design systems and review critical code
- Comfort operating in ambiguity; ability to move fast without sacrificing quality
- Strong communicator who builds cross-functional alignment
Preferred: Experience at a Series B-D startup or scale-up; background in AI/ML infrastructure; familiarity with containerization and cloud-native architectures.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $320,000–$380,000 USD
