Location: San Ramon, CA
Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid 1 2 days in office intermittently for collaboration sessions (San Ramon/Dublin locations); primarily remote
Contract Details
- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 11 months
- Pay Rate: $65.00 $68.00 / Hour (USD)
- Travel Requirements: Mileage reimbursements available (with prior manager approval) when traveling to locations other than the primary business location if travel exceeds 50 miles (one way) from home. Overnight stay costs may also be reimbursed in rare cases.
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Job Summary
This Senior Business Analyst role is mostly remote with 1 2 days in office intermittently for collaboration sessions at the San Ramon/Dublin locations. The role focuses on requirements gathering, data analytics, stakeholder communication, systems thinking, and problem solving across complex business and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data.
- Support logistical tasks related to weekly/monthly/quarterly operating reviews by aggregating data, validating inputs, and preparing materials for leadership discussions.
- Develop new or revise existing data analysis to predict business outcomes selecting from various complex variables.
- Develop and use metrics to develop recommendations related to business strategy and operations. Present findings and recommendations to leaders.
- Manage small to mid-size initiatives related to electrical operations processes.
- Develop clear, executive-ready presentations, one pagers, etc. that translate complex data and operational insights into actionable narratives.
- Analyze current-state processes and support development of improved workflows, tools, and reporting structures to drive efficiency and waste reduction.
Required Skills
- Requirements Gathering & Business Acumen: skilled in understanding business processes, identifying gaps, and defining requirements, process mapping, gap analysis, data analysis, and documenting business needs.
- Stakeholder Communication & Translation: ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and technical outputs with strong written and verbal communication, especially for leadership-facing materials.
- Systems Thinking & Problem Solving: ability to understand how people, processes, and tools connect across the business landscape, identify root causes, and develop structured solutions.
- Working knowledge of project management and project lifecycle.
- Broad knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches, and tactics.
- Advanced understanding of fundamental analysis and what-if modeling concepts, methods, and techniques, and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes.
- Creative problem-solving skills to develop solutions.
- Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to justify any business changes.
- Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management.
- Knowledge and understanding of key drivers affecting business results.
- Strong project management knowledge and skills to lead project teams.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
- Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Project, Visio, or similar software.
- Advanced proficiency in Information Analysis, Metrics and KPI Tracking, Presentation, Visual Management, Consulting Skills, and Project Management skills.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
- MBA or graduate degree preferred.
Required Experience
- Minimum 4 years of related work experience.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Equipment: Vendor-provided laptop to start; hiring manager will eventually assign a company device.
- PPE: Once needed, contractor may purchase and expense for reimbursement with prior manager approval.
