Cleanroom Microscope Technician - 1st Shift - $18.50/hr

Job Description

This role involves the meticulous manufacturing and assembly of pipettes, primarily using manual assembly processes under a microscope. The process includes loading glass pieces into heat packaging and shaping the pipette tips by transferring heat through a pedal mechanism. Cross-training in automated manufacturing processes will also be provided.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble pipettes using manual and automated processes.
• Operate and focus microscopes for assembly tasks.
• Load glass pieces into heat packaging and shape pipette tips.
• Meet daily output and yield requirements.
• Participate in cross-training within the automated manufacturing department.
• Continually improve skills and efficiency.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in using microscopes for extended periods.
• Experience in production and inspection processes.
• Manual dexterity for precise assembly work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in cleanroom environments.
• Understanding of inventory and packaging procedures.
• Ability to measure and ensure accuracy under a microscope.

Work Environment

The role offers openings on both first shift (6:30 am to 3:00 pm) and second shift (3:30 pm to midnight). Work is conducted in a cleanroom where strict gowning procedures are followed, including wearing hairnets and thorough hand washing. Employees are required to wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, avoiding excessive makeup, lotion, or perfumes. The company provides adjustable desks and encourages regular breaks to relax eyes and stretch, ensuring a comfortable working experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
