Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for a designated group of patients during a night shift, assuming accountability for outcomes.
- Develop and implement care plans based on the nursing process, incorporating input from patients and significant others.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health care team members to coordinate delivery of care across eligible age ranges as assigned by the unit.
- Include teaching and discharge planning within the overall plan of care to support patient and family understanding.
- Delegate appropriate aspects of patient care to other licensed or credentialed staff according to current scope of practice and competence.
- Ensure documentation is complete and accurate to reflect patient status, interventions, and outcomes.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse (RN) license (state-specific) required
- Ability to practice during night shifts and in a 12-hour shift pattern
- Capacity to care for patients across age groups as assigned by the unit
- Demonstrated ability to apply the nursing process to plan and deliver care
- Eligible for a travel assignment and able to commit to an 8-week contract
- Education: nursing degree from an accredited program (per licensure requirements)
