Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Speech Therapy Supervisor. Responsible for assessing referred patients, planning and administering Speech Therapy intervention plans, scheduling treatments, and recording treatment information. Provides instruction to patients, families, and hospital staff. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Performs other duties as assigned. Ensures high-quality and safe patient care, maintains cost-effective treatment plans, and assists in the efficient return of patients to the highest degree of independence possible. Adheres to hospital safety standards and ensures department objectives are met.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited speech therapy program
- California Speech Therapy License
- AHA BLS certification
- Acute inpatient hospital experience
- Ability to perform Modified Barium Swallows
- Epic experience: Minimum of 6-12 months within the past year
- Must be able to work with minimal training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with adult patients ranging from MedSurg, ICU, to stroke cases
Additional Information:
- Setting: Inpatient hospital
- Pay range: $49-$59 per hour
- Pay range may vary based on benefits such as stipends (for clinical traveler roles), medical, dental, vision, and 401K
