This is an excellent opportunity to support high school students with significant support needs while working alongside a collaborative educational team.

Special Education Teacher Job Description:

Moderate to Severe High School Classroom (Grades 9–12)

• Provide specialized academic instruction and individualized support to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned to student needs, goals, and post-secondary transition planning.
• Deliver differentiated instruction designed to promote academic growth, communication, independence, and functional life skills.
• Collaborate with related service providers, general education staff, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Maintain compliance with all special education documentation, progress reporting, and IEP requirements.
• Foster a structured, supportive classroom environment that encourages engagement, independence, and meaningful student outcomes.

Requirements:

• Active California Education Specialist Credential required
• Must hold an Extensive Support Needs (ESN), Moderate/Severe, or equivalent California credential
• Experience supporting students with significant support needs preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
