Reports To: Fabrication Supervisor | Location: On-site
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Welder Lead to lead our shop team and perform high-quality custom metal fabrication. You will balance hands-on welding with team leadership—orienting new hires, guiding daily workflows, de-escalating issues, and ensuring performance standards and deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily welding operations, coach team members, assign tasks, and report progress to leadership.
- Perform high-quality GMAW and GTAW welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Read and interpret CAD engineering drawings to plan work and meet tight tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts/structures to ensure they meet exact specifications.
- Streamline work processes, reduce turnaround time, and maintain shop safety.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of metal fabrication experience (Automotive, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Mechanical Assembly preferred).
- AWS (American Welding Society) Certification required.
- High School Diploma, GED, or Technical School equivalent.
- trong math skills (fractional/decimal measurements) and blueprint reading.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk up to 12 hours, wear required PPE, and work around heavy machinery.
