Mechanical Inspector – Swing Shift
Location: Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
Pay: $25.30 (10% shift differential is already included)
Schedule: Full-Time | Swing Shift
Duration: 2-year contract (position ends after 2 yrs)
Training: May require day shift during initial training
Overview
Electronic measurement equipment client seeks a Mechanical Inspector (aka "Manufacturing Operations Coordinator") to join their Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) in Rancho Santa Margarita.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automated inspections of precision-machined components
- Conduct visual inspections using microscopes and precision measuring equipment
- Operate automated inspection systems
- Use precision inspection tools, including pin, thread, and ring gages
- Inspect high-volume production parts while maintaining quality and accuracy
- Record inspection results within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T
- Follow established quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures
- Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Some college coursework or technical training preferred
- Previous manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred
- Experience using Windows PC and Microsoft Excel
- Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Comfortable performing detailed work under a microscope
- Experience with high-volume parts inspection
- Familiarity with automated inspection equipment is a plus
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as pin, thread, and ring gages
- Manufacturing Execution System (MES) experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T specifications
