VCA TLC Pasadena Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician! for our Surgery Department! Known for industry-leading medicine, we support our community and network of veterinary professionals in the greater Los Angeles area with education, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and relationship development. We are improving on how we support clinicians and technical staff by adding qualified Credentialed Veterinary Technicians to our growing hospital. Location: 1412 Huntington Dr, South Pasadena, CA 91030

Job Type: Full-time
\n
Schedule: 3 X 12 hour shift: Monday through Wednesday
Experience: Veterinary experience: 3 years (Preferred)
Salary: $28 - $36 per hour. Dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule, and additional responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
\n

Surgical preparation
- \n
Anesthesia monitoring
- \n
Assist doctors with exams, treatments, and procedures
- \n
Venipuncture and IVC placement
- \n
Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
- \n
Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team. Recognize subtle change in clinical status
- \n
Discharge instructions with clients
- \n
Complete estimates, basic record keeping
- \n
Advanced Phlebotomy
- \n
Monitoring Ventilator Cases
- \n
Diagnostic imaging (radiographs and assisting with ultrasounds)

Requirements:

RVT Credentials valid in California
- \n
Surgery experience preferred
- \n
Proficient computer skills
- \n
Outstanding communication skills
