Position Summary
As a Quality Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring world-class quality standards throughout our aerospace manufacturing operations. You'll serve as the primary liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams to investigate quality concerns, perform inspections, support audits, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing
Customer & Supplier Quality
- Manage customer quality claims and inquiries through customer portals, ensuring timely responses and resolutions.
- Investigate customer returns, rejections, waivers, DPPM issues, and nonconforming products.
- Interpret customer quality requirements, engineering specifications, and contractual flow-down requirements.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate containment activities and disposition of nonconforming materials.
- Maintain customer scorecards, DPPM metrics, and quality performance reporting.
- Process RMAs and customer rejection documentation.
- Develop and maintain customer-specific quality procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Inspection & Quality Assurance
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Perform detailed inspections using precision measuring equipment including:

- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Height gauges
- Optical comparators
- Additional precision inspection tools
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
- Develop and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Process and close quality notifications and customer claims.
- Generate quality metrics and reports including rejection rates, DPPM, audit findings, and corrective action status.
- Support final inspection activities as needed.
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Coordinate customer, supplier, and third-party audits.
- Develop corrective action plans and ensure timely completion.

- SAE AS6174
- Customer-specific quality requirements
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Lead supplier corrective action activities and quality improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
- 5+ years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, medical device, or industrial manufacturing
- Experience supporting customer and supplier audits
- 2-5 years of aerospace fastener inspection experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on inspection experience
- 3+ years of advanced quality inspection, auditing, or testing experience
- Experience managing corrective action programs
Technical Skills
- Expert knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and inspection methods
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- SAP experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and SAE quality standards

- Delegated Source Inspector Certification
- Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher)
