Job Description

Physical Security Project Manager Position Overview

Securify is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Physical Security Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of low-voltage physical security system projects, including access control, intrusion detection systems, and CCTV. You will ensure the effective design, implementation, and delivery of security solutions that meet client requirements while maintaining project profitability. The ideal candidate excels at managing cross-functional teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and balancing technical execution with financial performance.

As a Project Manager, you will oversee all phases of the project, from initial planning and design through project closure, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with industry standards and client expectations. Success in this role requires extensive experience managing low-voltage physical security projects, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. In addition to low-voltage physical security experience, experience leading projects in construction, electrical, or systems integration is highly desirable but not required. This position requires regular travel to client sites and job locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of project design and engineering for low-voltage physical security systems.

  • Manage all contracts and change orders.

  • Supervise and monitor service level agreement schedules and coordinate technical work from start-up through commissioning and project closeout.

  • Manage day-to-day activities, including directing employees and subcontractors on assigned projects.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including status, changes, material flow, correspondence, claims, punch lists, audits, schedules, and closeout analyses.

  • Establish, maintain, and foster effective communication between customers, engineering, technical support, and on-site construction trades.

  • Actively contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of technical drawing standards and workflows to improve the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of project-related technical documentation.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, project requirements, and specifications.

  • Provide weekly status reports to the customer and key stakeholders on all open projects.

  • Close out projects in a timely manner.

  • Provide overall financial management of assigned projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

  • Manage all aspects of job cost, vendors, labor, and procurement.

  • Understand and follow established bid procedures and billing processes.

  • Meet with potential clients and present proposals.

  • Attend and prepare updates for weekly client meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Self-starter who works effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Proven experience with access control, security systems, and other low-voltage physical security systems.

  • Background in construction, electrical, or systems integration is preferred but not required.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and build productive relationships.

  • Close attention to detail and organization in managing documentation, schedules, and deliverables.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and manages multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Proven experience with access control, security systems, and other low-voltage physical security systems.

  • Background in construction, electrical, or systems integration is preferred but not required.

  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience is required.

  • Construction, electrical, low-voltage security, or systems integration experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of access control, CCTV, intercom, and intrusion detection systems is preferred.

  • PMP is preferred but not required. Relevant coursework, education, or experience in lieu of PMP is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for equipment, materials, and tools.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders or stairs during site visits and installation oversight.

  • Ability to work on construction sites and in mechanical or electrical rooms, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust.

  • Ability to travel regularly to client locations and job sites and move between office, warehouse, and field environments throughout the workday.

  • Ability to use standard hand tools, test equipment, and laptops or mobile devices while on site.

Work Location

  • This is an in-person position based at our Mountain View, CA, office and requires a daily commute.

  • The role involves frequent travel to client sites within the service area and occasional longer-distance travel outside it. Domestic U.S. travel is expected based on project and team needs.

  • Reliable personal transportation is required to ensure punctual attendance at both the Mountain View office and various client locations as necessary.
